The field of leadership is huge, as are your challenges as a leader. Spanning the full programme, the leadership horizontal track will give you a ‘guided tour’ of the leadership landscape and introduce you to the key transitions of leadership.

Everything you learn will not only be for the course, it’s for the rest of your working life – leadership requires a lifelong commitment to intense reflection and self-insight, feedback from others, and practice.

Approach to learning

To leverage various leadership frameworks and support your development, this course provides you with the time and space to reflect on a personal action plan. These frameworks will support your learning, acting as a map to your leadership development. You will reflect on your progress through the 360 feedback process, reflection exercises, interactive role-plays and inspiring readings and videos.

You will also be given the time and space to coach and be coached and carry out a personal action plan throughout the length of the programme.

Leadership Development programme content

The Leadership Development course will explore the following leadership tools and behaviours:

  • Think like a leader, act like a leader
  • The leader as a coach:
    • Goal setting
    • Feedback
    • Support
  • Your interaction style
  • Gracefully receiving feedback: your 360 results
  • Action planning

Leadership Development begins with a 7 week course, and has addidtional leadership weeks throught the duration of the programme.

Knowledge into action

After completing this course, you will:

  • Understand authenticity and the difference between DNA, personality and behavior.
  • Understand the basic principles of coaching: challenge, feedback and support.
  • Understand the complexities of influence through the application of the InSi framework by Timothy Leary.
  • Apply enhanced self-insight. Gain insight into your own personality, leadership journey and interaction style.
  • Display enriched reflection skills. Reflect on personal strengths and challenges.
  • Utilise improved skills in coaching: challenge, feedback and support. 
  • Apply enhanced skills in receiving feedback.
  • Show improvement by continuously developing as a leader.
