KATLEEN DE STOBBELEIR: Hi there. A warm welcome to your leadership development course. I am at a theme park, and I must say, there are some pretty crazy rides out here. So why am I here? To me, good leadership is like a good roller coaster. It's exhilarating and it's thrilling.
But leadership can also be quite scary. You need quite some courage, and you might sometimes wonder, why on Earth did I get on this ride? Yet it's precisely that mix between thrill and anxiety that makes you feel alive.
In this course, we will not settle for merry-go-round leadership, but we will go for the real thing. My job is to stimulate you to take the ride, to go out of that comfort zone, and to learn to enjoy the thrill of leadership. Are you ready for the ride? Let's go.
