Fredrik Hacklin

Fredrik Hacklin

Professor of Entrepreneurship

Fredrik Hacklin research, teaching and advisory activities are in the field of strategic entrepreneurship and innovation, which particular focus on digital disruption, industry reconfiguration and their implications for firm strategy. He has worked with companies such as ABB, Bang & Olufsen, Clariant, Deutsche Telekom, Danone, DHL, Ericsson, Nokia and TeliaSonera. He is recipient of the annual research award by the Nokia–AlcatelLucent Foundation for Communications Research, for his work on ICT industry convergence. His article “Strategic choices in converging industries” (MIT Sloan Management Review, 2013) was selected “Top Strategy Article” by the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Fredrik leads the Entrepreneurship course.

Barney Jordaan

Barney Jordaan

Professor of Conflict Management and Negotiation

Barney is a South African negotiation, mediation, dispute and conflict resolution specialist. He has worked with many global organisations and teaches negotiation skills and conflict resolution. Barney is a certified mediator with the ADR Group (UK), IMI (Netherlands) and CEDR (UK), and he has served as external consultant to the World Bank. He is a co-author on the Negotiation course. 

Fred Lemke

Fred Lemke

Professor of Marketing & Sustainability

Fred leads management workshops on the interface of marketing, sustainability, innovation, value creation, customer experience, and reputation. He acts as a management consultant for international companies in the areas of strategic marketing and marketing research. As an expert in marketing and sustainability, Fred speaks frequently on international conferences on topics that impact modern business and society at large. He typically reflects on current business challenges against a supply chain and multiple-stakeholder background. Fred leads the Marketing course.

Mathieu Luypaert

Mathieu Luypaert

Professor of Corporate Finance

Mathieu specialises in value creation through mergers and acquisitions. He studies how the stock price of merging companies reacts upon the announcement of such a deal, and how potential synergies are realised. He teaches courses on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions. Mathieu is a co-author on the Corporate Finance course. 

Wouter De Maeseneire

Wouter De Maeseneire

Professor of Corporate Finance

A passionate and experienced teacher, Wouter thoroughly enjoys explaining financial management principles by linking finance to business models and corporate strategies. His classes are often centred around self-developed cases that discuss the AB Inbev deal, Walmart’s financial statements, Facebook’s IPO debacle and Apple’s cash position. In 2017 Wouter won The Case Centre’s Outstanding Case Teacher award. He is a co-author on the Corporate Finance course. 

Sophie Manigart

Partner

An experienced teacher and advisor in entrepreneurial finance, venture capital and business angels, Sophie is a professor at the Business School with specialisms in entrepreneurial finance and venture capital. She is Associate Editor of Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and a member of the board of Business Angels Network Vlaanderen, Gimv, AXA Belgium and BW Ryhove. Sophie leads the Corporate Finance course.

Miguel Meuleman

Miguel Meuleman

Professor of Entrepreneurship

A passionate teacher in the field of entrepreneurship, Miguel has been involved in projects to make entrepreneurship education more effective. He has launched initiatives to bridge entrepreneurship, education and design, participated in numerous consulting projects, and is the author of several case studies. Miguel specialises in the areas of new venture creation and growth, buyouts, business model generation and entrepreneurial finance. He is a co-author on the Entrepreneurship course.

Steve Muylle

Steve Muylle

Professor of Marketing and E-business

Academic director for the online MBA, Steve is a recognised expert in assessing and enhancing e-business processes. He delivers actionable insights into how firms maximise the value from and for customers, offline and online. He has received multiple awards for his research and teaching. Steve also leads the Induction & Primers, Knowledge In Action project, and Digital Strategy courses.

Carine Peeters

Carine Peeters

Professor of Strategy and International Business

Carine is an expert in the field of international business and strategy, with a particular interest in emerging markets as well as service-sourcing strategies and delivery models. A firm believer in innovation, Carine is always eager to share and co-create knowledge with participants, trying out new methods to enrich and embed the learning experience. She leads the Strategy course. 

Filip Roodhooft

Filip Roodhooft

Professor of Accounting

Filip’s teaching is focused primarily on the finance function as a business partner for an organisation. He also shows non-financial managers the relevance of accounting information for decision making and strategy execution. Filip leads the Financial and Managerial Accounting course.
